Learning is a universal truth, we all love to learn something new, having an abundance of knowledge gives us a good image of ourselves not just to other people but to ourselves. It gives us confidence, self esteem. But most importantly it gives a good foundation for us to make proper decisions.
We can all acquire knowledge but few can really master it. Anytime you learn something new as soon as you learn you will realise that it took no more than 5 seconds to learn it, what you may not realise at that moment is that it takes a lifetime to master it.
Mastering what we learn is a thought that comes right after learning. It's funny that we all have that desire when it comes to learning. How do we get to the mastery level? Again that is what we want after all. Well there is a very common denominator that is aware of when it comes to all master of every field out there and to how they acquire it. That denominator is repetition. A better word for it that I like myself is "spaced repetition" this is when you learn something and you do it over and over again. The way we acquire mastery through it is that every time we go through it not only does it ingrain in our brain a little deeper but we get something new every time we go through it.
The knowledge or facts of the concept were learning increases with every run of it. The neuro pathways multiply as well. There is an unfortunate thing we have when it comes to spaced repetition and that is that we don't use it. A very small amount of people understand the power behind it, that is why the legends are few and far in between each other as well.
For example our school regulations is probably one if not the most important aspect when it comes to the focus that we give for the growth of our society, that is why education is a big deal everywhere. But in my opinion we don't ingrained the concepts within our young students as much as we think we do in reality. We don't make sure accurately that the student has really grasped the knowledge taught as his grade level.
We just give them an exam if they can do kind of well we just give them a pass without assuring that the knowledge they were taught one lesson at time was ingrained. For one we don't use spaced repetition when teaching the lessons, they just go through it one time maybe even give them a pop quiz and then just move on.
But if you look at people at very high levels and how they make their children and taught and how they are trained themselves. They make sure they sure they repeat the lessons over and over till they get to a competent level that can real beneficial because of how ingrained it is. Look at your life, whether is your job or if you own a business, you find a way on how to do something.. do you make sure to repeat it over and over till you get it and not only will you get it deeply when you do this but you will discover new things every time you go through it, this is where innovation is born from.
Its not because the person was a genius or they had a such advance mind unlike anybody else. The truth is that its really not that case. But it all stems from the concept of spaced repetition. No matter what it is or how bad you are at it, spaced repetition can take you to any level you wish, and when you get there there is an opportunity to go higher.
This is the beauty of learning, the beauty that is rarely used is that you can over some thing and infinite amount of time and still find something new. This is a secret only the ultimate successful people use and truly understand. Make the choice today to engage upon it and research around so you can truly understand it as well. How can you lose. With understanding this you literally cant.
